We evaluate each cat that comes to us to determine what would be best for them.

Sanctuary cat: Most kitties we have here are here to stay due to various factors individual to each cat. We've worked really hard to try and change bad habits and behaviors that some cats have, but most that have come to us just have a personality where they don't like humans, just merely tolerate our existence.

Adoptable cats: There are a few kitties that could do well in a new home if certain conditions are met.

Meet the Indoor Kitties

Rascal

Little Bear

Birthdate: April 23, 2016

Rascal has been with me since she was a kitten. I 'rescued' her from my aunt whose cat had kittens. My aunt didn't want the kittens and was going to kick them out of the house. So I took Rascal and someone else took her brother.

Rascal is feisty and curious. She likes to steal used q-tips and receipts. There is no denying that she is weird, but we love her.

Rascal is seen by all the cats as the matriarch. Everyone loves to come to her and ask for baths, and she is almost always happy to oblige.

Sanctuary cat.

Little Bear

Little Bear

Birthdate: May 10, 2018

We found Bear at a local shelter when we had actually gone their to look for a dog to adopt. After not finding a dog that we bonded with, we went into the cat wing and that is where I found this little ball of black fluff crying and reaching for my through the crate. He immediately stole my heart. We adopted him and brought his furry little butt home. I originally named him Little Bear, but he is not so Little anymore so we just call him Bear.

Bear became the alpha of our indoor colony when the previous alpha passed. He is a sweet cuddly boy with an attitude as big as he is. He keeps all the other kitties in line and shows the kittens how to be a part of the colony.

Sanctuary cat.

Lily

Lily

Birthdate: April 18, 2020

While leaving our local petstore one day we saw this little grey kitten bouncing into the glass windows of the store front. It was a very hot day, so we were concerned she was dehydrated. We took her to an urgent care to find that she was perfectly healthy. Since she was a stray, we got her all her vaccinations and got her spayed when she was old enough. We didn't find anyone who wanted to adopt her, so she became part of our colony.

Lily is a crazy, active, tornado of a cat. She gets zoomies often and will mow down anyone in her path. She is also VERY vocal. She loves to yell at us when we are doing, well, pretty much anything.

Sanctuary cat.

Mama

Birthdate: February 16, 2019

Mama was named such because on June 22, 2020 she left her four kittens under our car. We found the kittens on a very hot day and all four kittens were very sick. All had at least one eye glued shut from infection. Mama came back everyday and sat outside our house staring in. I spent months trying to earn her trust, and on October 7, 2020 I opened the door and she walked in.

Mama has had two litters of kittens, the four she left under our car and a litter of five she had in our house. Two of her kittens from her second litter, Boo and Merida, were adopted out when they were a few weeks old. Mama is the mother of 7 cats currently in our home.

Mama is very playful with the other cats. She does not like to be pet or touched, but she will boop her nose to your finger when prompted.

Sanctuary cat.

Wolfe

Birthdate: May 28, 2020

Wolfe was one of the four kittens Mama left under our car. He was a scared little guy who couldn't see because both his eyes were glued shut. He was very scared of us at first and wouldn't let us pet him.

We named him Wolfe after he spent his first car ride to the vet howling like crazy.

After he recovered from being sick he turned into the biggest, laziest, couch potato lovebug. He spends his days lounging in the house or outside in the sun. He loves to cuddle on the bed at night and will happily purr and 'bathe' us while we pet him. He also likes to follow our kids around and pet himself on them, which they find absolutely hilarious.

Sanctuary cat.

Maevis "Mae Mae"

Maevis "Mae Mae"

Birthdate: May 28, 2020

Maevis was 2/4 that were left under our car. She was so sick I honestly didn't think she would survive. She recovered and became a healthy, strong, rambunctious little kitty. At first she didn't like to be touched by us and preferred to stay away from us, but now she loves to cuddle on the bed with and suckle while making biscuits on the fluffy blankets.

Maevis is a very active parkour cat. It's sometimes scary the high places she is able to get to. There is literally no place to hide something from this cat.

Sanctuary cat.

Smokey

Birthdate: May 28, 2020

Smokey is 3/4 of the car kittens. He was so loving as a kitten. He was always crying out to be picked up, pet, and loved on. As he got older though he got...weird. He gets zoomies often where he just runs around the room sideways. He does not understand kitty social etiquette at all. He is often stirring up trouble because he invaded another cats space and didn't back off when asked.

He is wiry and doesn't like to be touched all that much anymore. When he wants to be pet he will silently yell at you and rub against the things around him. Usually this only happens when he is on the cat tower and at eye level with us.

Sanctuary cat.

Bandit

Birthdate: May 28, 2020

Bandit, the fourth and tallest of the car kittens, got his name because he was always stealing toys from his siblings, and he and Smokey were inseparable.  As a kitten he was always whining and asking for attention. That has not changed.

He is a giant cuddlebug who loves to snuggle on a fluffy blanket while he suckles and makes biscuits.

He loves to play with toys and other kitties while he's awake and get into mischief. Lots of mischief.

Bandit looks up to Bear, and will often imitate Bear's mannerism's when they're hanging out. Maybe, one day, Bandit will be a big alpha kitty-boss too.

Sanctuary cat.

Nick Furry

Nick Furry

Birthdate: March 21, 2021

Nick is 1/5 from Mama's second litter.  One of his eyes opened very early, so we named him after the eye-patched comic book hero, Nick Fur(r)y.

Nick is a very particular cat. He loves to lay by feet and on legs, suckle and make biscuits on fluffy blankets, but does not like being touched at all.

He loves to run around the house and play with the other kitties, but he is not the most active cat. He does prefer to sleep the day away in a cozy spot.

He is an adequate bug hunter, but his favorite thing to hunt is bubbles. This little kitty loves bubbles.

Sanctuary cat.

Piglet

Pikachu "Peeka"

Pikachu "Peeka"

Birthdate: March 21, 2021

Piglet is 2/5 of Mama's second litter. Piglet was the smallest of the litter, and also the hungriest.

Piglet is very playful with the other cats. She loves to zoom around the house playing chase with whomever is willing to play.

Piglet does not turn down any scraps of food she is able to get her paws on. This cat loves food of any kind. She will sit by you while you are eating in the hopes that you drop a crumb of food.

Piglet does not like to be touched. She does like to cuddle on our bed with us and the other cats, as long as we don't touch her. She also loves to sleep on the wall beds.

Piglet is an energetic and quirky little cat.

Sanctuary cat.

Pikachu "Peeka"

Pikachu "Peeka"

Pikachu "Peeka"

Birthdate: March 21, 2021

Pikachu is 3/5 of Mama's second litter. He likes to play peek-a-boo. He creeps around the house and pops up where you least expect him.

He loves to play with Smokey and run through the house. His favorite toy is a little rainbow pom pom ball. He will carry it inside and outside, and gets very territorial if someone tries to take it from him.

Peeka Likes to sleep and cuddle with the other cats, but does not like to be touched by us. Of all the cats, he favors Smokey and his mom, Mama. Those two are the first he goes to for snuggles or play.

Sanctuary cat.

Simba

Pikachu "Peeka"

Simba

Birthdate: August 16, 2020

Simba was found under our car on  September 20, 2020. I noticed he was under there because there was a opossum and a racoon trying to get at something under our car. Curious as to what they were going after, I shoed them away and looked under to see a scared little ball of orange fur. I left him there for an hour whilst repeatedly shooing the racoon and opossum, but his mother didn't come back for him. When the racoon and opossum started getting more aggressive and insistent about getting under the car I brought the little kitten inside.

Simba quickly bonded with our oldest cat and alpha at the time, Oliver. Oliver took care of Simba and taught him many of his own little quirks that I now see in Simba today.

Simba has literally no care. At all. He is a typical orange tabby with reduced risk aversion. He is a big, fat, lazy boy who loves to suckle and make biscuits on a fluffy blanket. He's a big orange cuddle bug.

Sanctuary cat.

Beanie Boo "BB"

Birthdate: August 16, 2020

BB was first found crying up in a tree in our front yard.I climbed a ladder up to get her, but she jumped down and ran off the second I was in range to reach her. A few days later, I opened the front door and she walked right in.

She was this tiny little black furball with a big head and big eyes, which is why I called her Beanie Boo, which is now just BB for short.

She is a silly little kitty who loves to run and play. She likes to rub against your legs and then dart away after you try to pet her. She does like head and chin rubs when she is sitting on the cat tower. She is very sneaky and finds the oddest hiding spots, especially when its time to get flea preventative put on.

Sanctuary cat.

Bindi

Birthdate: August 27, 2017

One would think that a mostly blind cat wouldn't be hard to trap, but Bindi was the most difficult to trap out of all the cats.

Bindi started coming around right after we moved in and we quickly noticed that something wasn't right with her vision. We weren't able to get a close look at her until after we trapped her. We then could see that she was missing one eye and had bad cataracts in the other. We believe she can see shapes and shadows, but not much else.

Bindi loves to be outside all day long sleeping in the sun. She likes to rub up against our legs when we are in the kitchen, mew at us, and ask for pets. She is a sweet girl who we love dearly and are very glad that she is now safe with us.

She has been under the care of a vet for her eyes. We don't know whether her right eye was damaged from illness or injury, but her body is constantly breaking down and absorbing the remnants of it that remain. As for her left eye that has the cataracts, at this point there isn't really much we can do other than leave it be. She is not in pain, and is in fact very healthy.

Sanctuary cat.

Minnie

Minnie

Birthdate: March 28, 2020

Minnie and her sister Meeka were born outside as strays. We were able to trap Minnie a few days after her sister, Meeka, came into the house and get her spayed and vaccinated. Even though Minnie clearly didn't like us, she adjusted and thrived being in the house. We wanted to keep the sisters together because they were bonded, so we kept them inside with the plan to find them a home together. Because of their personalities, we have yet to find them a home elsewhere, but they will always be loved and have a home here.

Minnie loves to act like a kitten and play with toys and the other kitties. She is a very good bug huntress. She loves to hang out outside and play, eat bugs, and sleep in the sun.

Although Minnie doesn't like to be touched, she will occasionally let you pet her head for a moment and will also boop your finger with her nose when prompted. Especially if you offer her food in exchange.

Sanctuary cat.

Spitfire

Birthdate: July 17, 2022

Spitfire was born outside and was from a previous litter of Moana's. Her mother would bring her and her sister around sporadically until one day the kittens showed up without mama and stayed.

Spitfire got her name because she would hiss and spit at me if I tried and touch her. I spent a few weeks trying to get hands on her before I got lucky one day.

After she came inside her personality completely changed. She was no longer aggressive, but very much cuddly. She loved to be held and pet, and would persistently ask for us to pet her. She loved to curl up by our heads and purr herself to sleep.

These days Spitfire likes to split her time between playing and lounging around sleeping. She still asks for pets, but is more independent now and likes to have her own space to curl up and sleep.

Adoptable - preferably to a single cat household.

MJ

Birthdate: July 17, 2022

MJ is Spitfire's littermate. Like her sister, MJ's temperament changed when she came inside. Outside she was meek and let me get close, but never enough to touch her. It took a bit of luck to catch her as well. Once she was inside, she became bold and made it very clear that while she tolerated us, she did not want us to touch her.

MJ loves to play with her sister and Meeka. I often find MJ curled up with Meeka outside in the cat enclosure enjoying the sun.

MJ also loves to sit by the front window and watch the birds eat from the feeders we have hung outside the window. She likes to jump at the window in an attempt to catch the birds, but all it does is spook them away or merely annoy them.

Sanctuary cat.

Tribble

Tribble

Birthdate: March 9, 2023

Tribble is Silkie's kitten. She brought him to our front door one day, and when I opened it I was able to pick him right up.

When he was really little he was all fur. Named because of his fluffy coat and tendency to purr, Tribble is a fun, cuddly kitty.

Tribble bounces between play and lap mood quickly and is ready for anything the day has planned for him.

He will play with any and all cat toys, even things that are not meant to be cat toys. He loves to play with the cat wand with our kids and amuses them with his jumps and backflips.

He likes to lay on our laps in bed and purr himself to sleep.

Will be adoptable after some behavioral issues are corrected.

Maui

Birthdate: April 2, 2023

Maui is 1/4 of Moana's kittens. As soon as his eyes were open he showed us what a headstrong little goof he is. He was and is often leaping into situations without first thinking about what he's doing. He is a playful little ball of fur. He spends a good amount of his day outside playing and also sleeping in the sun. He likes to sit at the window and watch the birds outside eating at the feeder. When he's lonely he will walk around the house whining trying to find someone to come and snuggle with him.

He loves snuggling on the bed and getting pets. He is a very loud purr machine.

Him and his brother, HeiHei, have bonded and love snuggling together. We hope to find them a home where they can stay together.

Adoptable to a home with another cat.

HeiHei

Birthdate: April 2, 2023

HeiHei is 2/4 of Moana's kittens and the cuddliest. This little fluffball follows his humans around all day asking for more and more love. He will jump on a lap and fall asleep in an instant.

HeiHei loves playing with toys and other kitties. He will chase a pom pom ball back and forth until he gets tuckered out and will then seek a human to sleep on.

When he can't find a human to sleep on, he will pass out anywhere he can fit. This includes the laundry hamper, top of the food bin, bathroom rug. Anywhere.

Sanctuary cat.

Pua

Pua

Birthdate: April 2, 2023

Pua is 3/4 of Moana's kittens. She got her name because she has always been a little piggy. She is always happy to find scraps to munch on. I'm sure she would spent most of her day eating if she could.

Pua loves to wrestle with her siblings and mom. She is particularly fond of a wool dryer ball that she likes to bring in and out of the house and play with. She will also play with a bell ball with the other cats if they have one.

When Pua is ready to relax, she likes to find a fluffy blanket to suckle and make biscuits. She has a soft purr and likes her fluffy fur pet. She loves under her chin and behind her ears scratched.

Adoptable as a pair with her sister Te Fiti.

Te Fiti

Birthdate: April 2, 2023

Te Fiti is 4/4 of Moana's kittens and the smallest. She is a spunky, fearless little kitty.

She spends most of her night and early morning playing inside and outside. She will have short bursts of play throughout the day, but mostly spends her day curled up somewhere sleeping.

She has bonded to both her sister, Pua, and to Smokey. She loves to play and cuddle with Smokey and seems to follow him around everywhere. She is very vocal when she can't find who she's looking for.

She also loves to snuggle on the bed with us and make purry biscuits. She doesn't always like to be pet, but when she does, she loves her chin and ears rubbed.

Adoptable as a pair with her sister Pua.
